Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 01 August 2026 | Last Updated: 01 August 2026

At B. E. Legal Services, we are committed to providing professional legal services with transparency and fairness. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, consultation fees, professional fees, and refunds are handled. By engaging our services or making a payment through our website or any of our approved payment channels, you agree to this policy.

Consultations

Consultation fees secure the time and professional expertise of our lawyers. Consultation fees are generally non-refundable, including where you choose not to proceed with our services after the consultation; you fail to attend a scheduled consultation without prior notice; or you decide to seek legal services elsewhere after the consultation. Where we need to reschedule a consultation due to circumstances within our control, we will work with you to arrange another mutually convenient time.

Legal Service Fees

Professional fees paid for legal services are generally earned as work is performed. Where a matter is cancelled before substantive work has commenced, we may, at our discretion, consider a full or partial refund after deducting administrative costs, payment processing charges, expenses already incurred, and work completed before cancellation. Once substantial legal work has commenced, refunds are generally not available.

Government and Third-Party Fees

Many of our services involve payments to government agencies or third parties, including statutory filing fees, registration fees, stamp duties, publication fees, and other regulatory charges. These fees are non-refundable once they have been paid or committed, except where the relevant authority approves a refund.

Client Cancellations

If you wish to cancel an engagement, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. Any refund, where applicable, will be assessed based on the stage of the matter, work already completed, expenses incurred, payments made to third parties, and contractual obligations.

Our Right to Decline or Terminate Engagements

We reserve the right to decline instructions or terminate an engagement where permitted by law and the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct, including where a conflict of interest exists; required information is not provided; professional fees remain unpaid; continuing the engagement would be unlawful or unethical; or the lawyer-client relationship has broken down. Where appropriate, unearned fees may be refunded after deducting work completed and expenses incurred.

Processing Refunds

Where a refund is approved, it will ordinarily be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.

Questions About Payments

If you have any questions regarding our fees, invoices, payments, or this policy, please contact us before making payment. We are committed to ensuring that our billing process is transparent and that clients understand the scope of our services before an engagement begins.
